Background

The Flexi is a conventionally styled forklift that is easy to drive, that works in about half the aisle of a conventional forklift.   The concept from the beginning was to bring a flexible VNA (very narrow aisle) machine to the marketplace that is priced more competitively with conventional forklifts and  reach trucks when compared to any other VNA product currently available.

The Flexi  is designed to operate in an aisle as narrow as 3’ plus the depth of the pallet.  It is capable of picking both sides of the aisle from either direction and can actually leave the aisle to unload trucks at the dock.  By significantly decreasing the aisle width, 25-40% when compared to reach trucks and conventional lifts, the end user significantly increases the cubic utilization  of his existing space.  In many applications the trailer to rack capability results in savings due to fleet and personnel reductions by eliminating lifts and operators at the dock.  Simply stated, the Flexi let’s you store more, in less space, at a lower cost.  The savings are very real and result in a rapid return on investment.

The Flexi was originally designed and manufactured by Narrow Aisle, Ltd. in England (for more information go to www.narrowaisle.co.uk).  It has been in production there for over 25 years. Due to the extremely high cost of manufacturing in England, in the year 2000, Peter Wooldridge, Managing Director of Narrow Aisle, Ltd., began a search for more economical production.  That search brought him to the United States.  Several manufacturers in the States were interested in the product.   We convinced him that the best alternative was to have it manufactured by our associates at Tailift Co., Ltd. in Taiwan.  We incorporated a new company, Narrow Aisle Inc. and introduced the truck to the American market at the ProMat show in Chicago in February of 2001.  NARROW AISLE  INC currently owns the manufacturing and marketing rights in North, Central and South America.  Our associates at Narrow Aisle, Ltd. are responsible for marketing in Europe and Africa and Tailift Co., Ltd. is responsible for marketing  in Asia and Australia.  Thousands of units have been manufactured and are in use in various countries all over the world.

The Flexi may be the best looking forklift ever made and the  easiest to operate. The unique rear loading of the battery allowed design engineers to shape the sides of the truck giving it a very streamlined look.  The look is also very functional because when combined with the front wheel drive and front wheel steering there is no rear end swing and less product damage when compared to conventional
forklifts.  The cantilevered overhead guard provides unobstructed forward visibility.  Narrow Aisle, Ltd. received the Design Achievement Award for the Flexi, an award presented by the Fork Lift Truck Association in England.  The overall design makes it easy to operate.

The Flexi is shipped to customers in the Americas from our facility in Dallas, Texas. The owners of NARROW AISLE INC have been in the forklift industry since 1978 and have represented a major Japanese manufacturer  of forklifts in Dallas since January of 1980.  Since that time they have historically been the largest dealer in the country for that manufacturer.  We understand what you expect from a forklift supplier and we deliver it; good pricing, prompt availability of trucks, strong parts support, and fair treatment of warranty claims.  You are urged to come visit us here in Dallas to meet our support staff and tour our facility.

The Flexi is designed and manufactured for the world market and uses the best components available in the process.  You can count on name brand components like the Zapi MOSFET Controller, Advanced DC motors, Sauer Danfoss pumps, mast rails from Hoesch in Germany on triple stage masts, and quad masts from Lift Technologies in Westminster, SC.  These are just a few examples. The Flexi’s features and benefits can be seen by viewing a promotional DVD.  Spending a few minutes watching the DVD is great way to see how the Flexi operates prior to an actual demo.
